Which chapter in World History did you enjoy most this year and why? Chapter 18 because it was easy to relate because certain video game that I have played that tells about what happened. This was my favorite because it wasn’t about kingdoms and how they were taken over by another kingdom and so on and so on. In this it’s about how they disagreed and how the countries made peace and betrayed each other.
Some of the things that I learned in this chapter are that how women were in the war and how they drove ambulances and demonstrated how to use gas masks. Another thing I learned in chapter is that after the war they had over 8 million dead soldiers and those they had to pay great debts. The triple entente was France, Russia, and Great Britain and then they changed to the allied powers, which was them just added Italy. Also that America was threatened by Germany which made America join the war. A new skill that I learned was how use map scales. We learned that we could find something just as long, and put it against the paper map to measure it. Another was to make notes so I will do well on the test. That has brought me better grade in my subjects. This would help us study with since we do not have study guides to study with. I can apply this to the real world if I was planning a trip that would be for map scales, also navigate. I can apply the note taking when I go into farther years in school or get a job that involves it.

The arrow loops gave the archers cover from where they were firing, so they couldn’t be shot back at. There were several different styles. They were normally a simple vertical slot. The second I chose was the keep, it was a great tower, for a place of refuge used during siege. Most were square or rectangle in shape although the top was round. Some keeps were over 80 feet high and 17 foot walls. The next one was a moat. A moat was a near by water supply and a defense. The builders would put a dam on the outlet side of the water supply, and control the water level in the moat. Some moats had stone casings, but most were left with earthen banks. Most castles, however, had dry moats, known simply as ditches. * Use this site for F- http://www.castles-of-britain.com/defenses.htm G- Describe 4 forms of entertainment in or around the castle.
